Bunbury has a train service too - one day it may even be improved http://www.transwa.wa.gov.au/Service...U/Default.aspx
If OP did choose Mandurah, then he could always travel to Bunbury if there's more work there. It would depend on whether you really, really preferred to live in Mandurah and do a long drive each day to the Bunbury area, or live somewhere close to Bunbury and have the best bits of the SW closer for work or play.
Perhaps the outside interests would swing the decision one way or another? Does your OH work and what does she do?

The real deciding factor is going to be employment opportunities at the end of the day.

Bunbury, if that's where the money is! My DH would love to go back to living in Bunbury, and I love how pretty it is down there! I guess if you're young and love to party and stuff, it might make it hard but ehhh, if you're like us and sit at home playing on the computer/watching tv/hanging out, then I reckon a place like Bunbury would be worth it.
Would love to live down there myself, but DH has plans to move NOR instead... *whinge*
GL with your decision!

Ok been to both Mandurah and Bunbury in the last couple of weeks and Bunbury seems to offer more for us. The extra half an hour drive to Perth really doesn't bother us as we probably won't be going there too often.
