We travelled with them from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney and thought they were great. Own TV screens, food every couple of hours. Wouldn't hesitate using them again. Have read Singapore Airlines are very good too.

Hi,
We are currently debating between Malaysian and Singapore.
Flown Singapore before and been happy (32" and your own TV screen) but considering Malaysian for 34" leg room!!!! (best in world for economy I think)

Parents-in-law use them and love them but Mother-in-law can't stand the food so starves until she gets here.

We'd go Singapore everytime if we had the choice but would go Malaysian if there was a couple of hundred $'s difference each.

If comparing Economy service Malaysian has more leg room (2") than Singapore Airlines. Both are Asian airlines and thus will tend to asian orientated meals.
I'd probably go with Malaysian over Singapore. If thinking of business then singapore win easily since the product (seat etc) is miles better.
Look at www.airlinequality.com for photos of seats, food, ratings and recent passenger flight reviews. Probably the best source of information regarding every airline on the net.

On the subject of safety though, interestingly Iran Air is one of the safest airlines in the world. Singapore has had two fatal crashes, Malaysian has had one. Malaysian operate over twice the number of flights than Singapore (3.2 million flights compared to 1.2 Singapore).
Amused me momentarily.

We flew Malaysian last year and both food and service were excellent. Couldn't really fault them.
