Malaysia Airlines

Hi all,

We are soon to be booking our flights for the end of October. Leg room is our priority, and we have already ruled Qantas out.

We know Singapore have excellent service, but according to this....

... Malaysia has the best legroom of all!!

Does anyone have any first hand experiences of this airline? Did they notice the 2" extra legroom, or do you think the information is wrong?

Cheers,

Gemma

That was the problem we found. We had to fly from Heathrow. It was ok going we stopped in a hotel in london the night before, but when we had to return it was to far to drive back to Bradford after that flight so we ended up stopping in a Hotel for the night.

Flew Malaysia this year. Just booked to fly Malaysia again next year. Will be flying Malaysia when we finally emigrate too. Service is excellent. Can't comment on the 'normal' meals but the veggie meals were excellent. The amount of help and care received, as we were travelling with an infant too, was second to none. Made travelling with BA/Qantas feel like travelling freight! :scared:

Also, OH and I are 6' 1" & 6' respectively. The 34" pitch is definitely noticable!!!!!

Thanks so much for all your replies. We are tall people and 34" sounds soo much better than the alternatives.

Cheers,

We flew Malaysia Airlines in June and def found the legroom the best we have experienced so far. Not an issue for me as I'm short but an issue for hubbie. He was def impressed and if possible (affording wise) we will def fly with them again for this reason. Also found them the best we've had so far in terms of people, food, entertainment etc. (you can pause and restart all the films etc - very handy when travelling with children!) - we've prev flown with Quantus/BA/Emirates.

We flew out here with Malasian Ailines this time around. The extra space did make a difference and the service was fantastic. Would definately fly with them again although the best flight I've ever had long haul was with Korean Air

We (2 adults and 2 kids at the time under 5) have flown with both Malaysia and Singapore from London to Melbourne. For us Singapore were streets ahead. I'm 6'3" and yes I have no doubt an extra 2 inches may have made a difference but what made a greater difference was the service and the Singapore Air crew could not do enough with us.

Also on both flights we had about 4hrs to kill at stopover and KL airport is pathetic. At Singapore, a well kept secret is that for not very much money, you can make use of the air side hotel pool & facilities - we had been tipped off and all you need is something to where, everything else is provided down to a complimentary drink. For us, if travelling with youngish kids, Singapore will win hands down over Malaysian.

No doubt others on this forum will disagree, but this is my/our opinion!

Re: Malaysia Airlines

I have used them previously and found them fantastic. however we used them this year without prior knowledge of their financial difficulties and they were dire, will never fly with them again, the plane was falling to bloody pieces, they had overbooked the flight, the food was abysmal and they didnt have enough meals for everyone. It truly was shocking.
