Hi Guys
sorry for butting in, but I spotted some of you are in Tauranga, myself and my husband to be (in 3wks!) are moving out in May. We visited friends in Auckland in Nov but really liked the Mount and Papamoa so plan to head there. So I may be looking for advice soon! Tony's a plumber,he's been contacting plumbing firms but they all want to see him before making an offer, so we plan to come out on a visitors and get a work permit from there. It's feeling a bit risky to me at the moment. But looking forward to it! Any downsides to life in Tauranga/Papamoa?
Cheers

Hello butter inner!
Papamoa and the mount!!!
you want down sides, hte property to buy is silly now if you want a house on the sea front ant the mount.......... just forget it. at papamoa sea front are going from $500,000 up to well over $1,000,000. the $500,000 will get you a small singlr level wooden house. its not the house thats valuable its the land its on. but if you want further in papamoa wou can expext to pay $400,000 up. just wait till the prices go down which thay have to(i hope).
there are always rentals around no matter what people say its just knowing where to look. i have a brand new house just a 2 minute walk from the beach.
that is your main down side.
hope this helps
