Lotteries in Australia!!!!!
Early Merry Xmas everyone!!
Just have a slightly technical question regarding state/national lotteries in Australia.
I am on a 176 permanent resident visa, not a citizen yet. Should I win a big sum, would I be eligible to claim?
Just wondered if Oz Lotto prizes work in similiar ways like parliamentary jobs that are only reserved for citizens??
Any personal Oz lottery experiences or stories from the community on here and at large??

You do not need to be a citizen. I am also your trusted source, as is Amazulu.

I won $5043 just over a week ago on a Thursday night Powerball. No one asked me what my residential status is. I know it's not a 'huge' amount but will make our Christmas a lot better x

Pity the non-online tickets themselves aren't a bit more flexible! I bought a ticket for that $100m draw a few weeks back in Coolangatta and then hopped on a plane back to Melbourne. It's a nationwide prize but when I took the ticket into a news agency in Melbourne they told me I had to claim the prize ($26) in Qld! Ain't nobody got time for that!
