Does anyone know where we go from here...........?
Do we have to get in touch with Dimia or can we di it all through AHC once we have applied and recieved our new passports.

Not *another* set of passports lost by Royal Mail. The London visa evidence sheet says they use recorded/special delivery - are the passports still getting lost this way?

Visas remain valid even though passports are lost. If they are definitely lost then you will need to replace them and the the visas re-stamped by AHC London.

The security issues of lost passports (with visas for Australia) have got to be addressed by AHC London. This ought to mean an insistence on using a *reliable* courier.

Try pm'ing Tinaj - her passport went missing last year and she had to get the visa put in again; can't really remember but I think
it went through AHC.

I seem to make a habit of quoting these words.

I may be wrong, but....

You can get a passport within a very short period of time (I think if you make an appointment you can get it same day at a couple of places in the UK).

Obviously you then need a copy of your letter granting the visa. If this is lost then either contact the AHC (surely to god they must have a record of your visa grant letter somewhere) or contact your case officer at the DIMIA and see if they can't get another sent out.

Should take a lot less time than 11 weeks!

AHC London emailed today and told us they have our passports STILL(I had just brought home 3 new applications)
They say there was a problem with there system and the case officer thought they had been sent but were filed away somewhere else(yeah right)

Any way We are back on track now,and they are sending them by special delivery.

Excellent news Leanne & Darren, really pleased that it is finally getting sorted, hope you have those passports in your hot little hands soon.
Surely it should be smooth sailing from here!

Best of luck

Waaayhaaay - Result !!!

Its not just AHC London that has problems. Berlin "lost" (i.e threw away) Chris's Blood tests, when we were applying for his spouse visa. Nice to know that the various embassies are consistent.

What a relief that must be. Theres enough stress in moving without thinking your passports are lost. Glad your back on track & good luck with it all.

I agree, this passport situation is shocking.

We are going to ring AHC and see if we can make an appointment to have ours done in person but I know what they'll say even before I ring.

God loves a tryer thou!!
