Looking for info on Melbourne
My family & myself are looking to emigrate to the Melbourne area, as we are just starting out we have completed the points checker (for my wife, who is a social worker) & this appears to be ok.
I think we are just worried about the cost of it all & whether a sponsored visa would be cheaper & quicker??
Also, trying to look for house prices down under (nothing too flash!!) is quite difficult too....
Basically i think i'm after any help i can get...any websites to look at for more info would be gratefully received.

No-one in their right mind should go down the sponsored route if they can get PR, it leaves you too vulnerable. Also, it may be cheaper at the outset but there are things you will pay more for once here if you do not have residency.
Use the advanced search facility on this forum to search for posts on Melbourne & the update forum has some excellent threads to give you an insight into life here & the move etc
The Immigration forum is for queries to do with visas.
Australia forum for questions about Aus & the Barbie, generally should not be taken too seriously!
