hello to every one
iv not been on here for a long time and the last time i wrote was from canada where as now its from the home land of the uk.
im writing about some advice im 5 months into an apprenticeship learning to become a bench joiner/ cabinet maker for a very high end company.
most of our work is for private clients who are in the extremely wealthy sector of life. Im basically wondering if any one may know once im fully qualified will my skills be enough to get me into the country on a skilled worker visa. I hope the fact im young around the age of 28 when I should be good to move will help me, plus the fact the company I work for are at such a high standard of workmanship that this will give me a little advantage. Any advice is always a great help thank you to any answers back

Who knows mate? The problem is you have to wait until you've qualified and then you need to have worked in your chosen profession for a period of time to qualify. By the time you have qualified your skills may or may not be on the skills in demand list mate and you can't tell until you've qualified as they change all the time.
You could read this for starters mate and start preparing http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/
Good luck

i was just seeing if i would be in demand or not as a bench joiner the reason as ask was well i really want to move to oz !!!
i just feel thats where my life belongs and that style of life suits me as a person.
iv always been pretty much told that if you have a trade then you will almost have a ticket to get into australia and thats my plan. get my papers as a bench joiner and then i hope with a few years of working in the trade i might be wanted for my skills.
i just hope like you said that by the time im 30 ( in 6 years ) that bench joiners will still be needed ???

I am surpirsed that you have been advised that tradies will always find it easier to get to Australia, many tradies are saying that the new points test its about to make it a whole lot harder. Still by the time you are ready, DIAC may have realised that and adjusted the test if not enough trades are coming through.
