Lonely Scot in Brisbane
Hi
I arrived in Brisbane 31st on my own from scotland to work at the Royal brisbane hospital, staying in Kelvin Grove. Currently i havent really met any1, i am in my early 20's and looking for people to hang about with or any ideas of how to meet people as i dont start work for a few weeks. I have been exploring the city but not much fun on your own
any ideas welcome, if not have a nice day!

I would seriously give Myspace and Facebook a miss.
If you search for friends virtually, you end up with virtually nothing, virtually alone, and virtually heartbroken or worse.
Join up with a social club, or find something in your area, that is of interest to you, and make friends the old fashioned way, slowly but surely and at a comfortable and controllable speed.
Ste ( good Luck )

Maybe try palace backpackers in the city (near central station).
Also, I'd consider getting a part time job in a bar or a pub.
Also- I'd sign up for some sports/clubs/etc....surfing, rockclimbing, running.
good luck ! you'll be fine.

Avoid 'Down Under Bar' though... vile!
My (sort of) cousin lives in Brisbane. She is Aussie, but her dad (my dad's cousin) is Scottish.
She's 22 and a nurse... I'm sure she'd be happy to meet up! PM me and I pass on details...

I also made some lovely friends through a 5 session "bronze medallion" swimming course.
I don't know if there is a meetup web site for Brisbane?
Move into a friendly, shared house?
Just a few ideas.
