Default Lodging Bond with Queenland Treasury Corp

Hi everyone
We are desting for Melbourne and our agent has recommended that we invest with Queensland Treasury, they haven't confirmed the interest rate, need to check if they are giving the best one. Has anyone out there used them or know of a better one. Any help advice would be very much appreciated. Haven't got time to right to all and await replies.
thanks
Kaz

Rates can vary day to day - if you're keen to 'chase' the best rate you need to be actively checking their websites and phoning up.

Most people find easier just to pick one with a reasonable rate and good service, and not try to get the very best rate on the day.

Hi

We lodged our bond with Northern Territories at the start of Nov and got 5.0%. SuperSeagulls invested in Western Australia this week and got 5.2%. Rates do vary (WA was 5% when we asked 3 weeks ago and, as you see, went up by the time SS invested). Both my experience with NT and SS's with WA have been good. Have a look on the Immigration forum too where there might be posts on bonds from QLD and others. It takes no time at all to send a quick email to each state - send one this evening and with the time difference you'll probably have an answer when you wake up tomorrow .

Good luck.

We lodged ours with Qld - only because they were the most helpful and quickest at getting back to us. They did, however, give a good rate of interest at the time.

I did send an email to all of the treasury departments for the various states requesting the rates. You coud do this. I think you might be able to get the email addresses from the dima page - just do a search.

Good luck.
