Location Sub Forums?
#1
I don't know whether its my obsessive compulsive need to have everything filed in order, but would anyone else find it easier if there were some location sub forums? (Maybe based on the states?)
After having spent several hours and several glasses of wine going through the Melbourne thread I did think maybe a sub forum might be easier to navigate, especially as I couldn't remember anything that had been written on the first 10 pages.
Has this idea been rejected before for some reason?

I personally think the balance is correct.
Perhaps PM a MOD and ask the question though

Yes because it would be a nightmare. There are too many, even if you did it by state it would lose spontaneity and you'd still have to search for stuff. You would also lose valuable information from people who may not live in the city/state you're looking at but who have lots of advice and information that would be relevant. Also if you did it for Australia, then you have the rest of the world to sort out as well. There are, in my humble opinion, quite enough sub forums already and the search facility is brilliant, you just occasionally have to think outside the box to find words to narrow the search down.

bloody hell pen what next

Bog off the pair of you
I always feel slightly patronising putting 'in my humble opinion' but I soon get over it

As Moneypen posted above, it would just be too difficult.
So many threads are interconnected and not State/City specific, and once you start trying to divide them up it would make life hell for us mods - we have a pile of threads now that get posted in the wrong place " UK house sales in Immigration etc etc" if we had to spend time moving stuff to the right State forum we wouldn't have time for our real jobs....

I understand the OP's point but there are all ready too many forums to keep track of. Besides, if there was a WA forum, we would lose all the Queenslanders who have never been here slagging Perth off.

Interesting, just followed that link - since when did Sydney declare itself the capital? Surely it should be Sydney NSW not Sydney Capital!!!
