If you only want them to stay away from your wardrobe, try rubbing vicks vapo-rub around the entrance to your wardrobe.

Failing that, try training them to use the toilet !!!

Here in suburban Sydney, we have lots of little tiny lizards living in the garden. Totally unscary and unthreatening. They do venture inside occasionally but do not climb walls or breed in cupboards. They probably die of fright a lot (we've found the odd crispy one behind the furniture sometimes). I imagine suburban Adelaide is much the same.
