House Geckos I would think, we had them, terrible to get out the door ended up chasing them round the house. Friendly I wouldn't worry too much.
The cockroaches are huge and horrible. Weather maybe colder here in Victoria than Queensland but I don't miss the cockroaches...

Hubby opened the fly screen to go in to the garden on Saturday & a lizard landed on him which made him jump (& me laugh). He called the kids to have a look at it & as he closed the screen door again the thing dropped it's tail & ran. The kids were fascinated by the wriggling tail left on the patio but I had to walk away....YUCK!!

Geckos are cool.... leave them alone.
We have a resident population and I encourage them as much as possible (anything that feeds off mosquitos is welcome in my house).
We do have one that got crushed in the door jam about 3 years ago thats still there - a near fossilised perfectly flat imprint of a former friend...

We get geckos in the evenings, they wouldn't worry me at all. Although I did freak out when one jumped on me in Fraser before I was used to them. Now they're just entertainment for the cats.
