What was the original thread?

I was just about to say how ripped off I feel for paying 65pence for one iceberg lettuce, although I did buy one from a cheapie store for around half the price, and it had bugs between every leaf! That's the last time I go organic.

I'm growing my own lettuce.

After all the compost, cow manure, backbreaking work digging and preparing, I have my own lettuce.

I have worked out that one will cost me $10.50... when it's grown.

I did have my own lettuce until my dogs got in and dug them up So now I'll have to start all over again (plus repair the fence). I think I'll buy them instead

I usually throw at least half away, so it doesn't matter

Eating lettuce makes me hungry so I don't eat much of it - got to watch my weight
