Or the lettuce lot could grow-your-own. Very easy, you get 100s of seeds in a packet which costs less than one supermarket lettuce, all you have to do is thin out the seedlings (which CAN be transplanted though not usually a good hit rate) and water copiously daily to avoid bolting in warmer climes.
