Letter from Singapore
I got a letter from Singapore this morning.
It was my NSW nurse registration which I had renewed by post.
The NSW nurse's reg. Board are in Sydney.
Is it common practice for these things to be outsourced?
Is it Cheaper?
I know a lot of UK junk mail is now posted from India as it is Cheaper.
Is this Trend now worldwide?

A lot of call centres, computer programming, accounts processing and other office functions are being outsourced there. Telstra is about to move 500 jobs to India.

Would you like fries with that?
Oh the Global Villiage . . . . . any one for a McDonalds!
I find it depressing sometimes we are going that way but I guess we have to go with the flow.

I guess that when a window closes a door opens.
The trick is when one way of living has moved on there will be some new opportunity to take its place. If we work smart we can enjoy these new opportunities and grow.
It must be hard for a lot of people to get their heads around. I suppose as an example the advent of telephone/internet banking. People use it to death now that complained about the banks closing branches. They find it convenient and quicker to bank this way.
Now and again it is nice to reminise about country lanes, a town that everyone knew you, etc, etc.
