Default Leather Suite and Oak Cabinet

We have purchased a new 3 pce suite and have been told by shippers that it may well crack in the process of transportation and also the same is said about oak furniture - has anyone had any experience of this or just scaremongering.

The leather can .dry out,but with new tanning techniques this very un likely, some european woods can suffer from drying out but this will depend on what part of oz you are heading for? remembering WA&SA have very dry climates, although you would,nt know it at the moment. ....... mm

We bought a brand new leather suite and transported it over. All OK except a slight dint in the wood when it arrived. Apart from the wood dint, the leather was in pristine condition. We did give it a leather polish though before it set off on its journey

Re oak furniture: Again, we bought some oak out [as well as other woods] and absolutly no probs.

The key is to get good removalists and make sure they pack these items well, even boxing them wherever poss.

Good luck

We bought our leather suite over, and are glad we did!!!

There was no obvious signs of any cracking when it was delivered. It has 'dried slightly' in the recent hot weather though, and is in desperate need of feeding..

Leather suites are really expensive here so it is definately worthwhile you bringing it over.

All the very best
