Laptops (again) (+Broadband)

I know I have asked this before but just wanted to double check. A UK bought laptop, operating either XP OR VISTA will work in Oz won't it?
Also, which broadband provider do people recommend?

I use http://www.internode.net 10Gb download limit 1.5 mb speed for $55 - on a 3 month contract - not a 3 year like companies such a Bigpond

No it all works fine. The only difference is a UK keyboard is a different to layout, so when you get used to the Aus one at work you have to think twice when you come home - or vice versa! Not really a drama as its only a few keys which are changed.

If it works in the uk why would it not work anywhere else,
Think what you are asking,
People travel all over the world with their laptops why would they take them if they did not work.

It depends where you're staying. Hotels have either wired or wireless Internet that you can buy in hourly chunks. Many holiday parks and rentals do too. Failing that, there's cafes with wireless connections. And failing that, you can just buy a Telstra Next-G prepaid mobile Internet card and (assuming you have a 3G phone with a modem facility) use that.

Not sure - take a look at www.bigpond.com. If not though, just walk into a Telstra shop when you get here and you'll pick one up there
