Re: Kitten naming competition.....

For my pets, I tend to like very different names.. often derived from greek or norse mythology... how about:

Hestia
Kronos
Demeter (Demi for short)
Vesta
Juno
Freya
Frigg
Loki
Tyr

Alternatively, I've done alcohol related names as well;

Whiskey
Khaluha
Tia (as in Maria)
JD (Jack Daniels)
Shivas (Regal)
Molson (as in the Canadian beer)

etc...

I would have SO much trouble choosing a name.

Aaaaahhhh! What a cutie.

I used to have a marmalade cat called Robertson. It wasn't long before everyone was calling him Bobby for short!

My son wanted to call him Frank (as in Frank Cooper), though!

(OK, you have to be up on UK comestibles to get this lot!)

What is the top brand of Aussie marmalade?

Anya.

Someone may know a better brand, but the only one I can think of is Cottee's.....

I guess that might have been a cute name too, huh?? :D

Just a quick note...when in Oz do NOT under any circumstances call a pet this!!!

I guess it must be one of those language barrier things but ummm...frigging is another Oz word for umm....ummm... (blushing now)...w***ing. But mostly associated with women. (Oh gosh!)

Ok so anyway...how's the weather???

Hmm...thats news to me. I, as an Aussie have only ever used frigging instead of saying the other F word....

But then again, in Oz...terms and phrases vary greatly across the country. For example, most people would know a Victorian by the word Grouse. In Victoria, particularly in the 80's, everything that was good, was grouse!! But no one other than Victorians really used that phrase...

:D

LOL...ahhhhhhhhh you were one of them??? ;)

I actually went to an all girls school in Perth for just one year. It was Iona Girls Grammer. Cant remember which suburb it was in, but at the time we were living in Swanbourne. (Dad was in the Army, of course) After that one year, Mum pulled my sister and I out and we went to Swanbourne Primary...

Oh the two girls who lived over the road from me went to Iona. Can't remember their surname though. Just Fiona and Sandra. I always thought it unfortunate that you'd send a girl called Fiona to Iona.

I went to Mercedes Ladies College...we're ladies you know...

Actually I went to an all girls catholic school so we could hardly be considered ladies.

Wasn't Iona a catholic school?? I have some recollection of going to RE and services in a church in the grounds.....

I havent lived in Perth since I was in Grade 4 and havent been to Perth since I was about 14. There is not alot of Perth that I remember actually....apart from my Dad disappearing with any of our male visitors in the direction of the beach near us in Swanbourne.....(not sure if it is still a nudist beach, but it was then :D )

Could have been catholic. Not sure. Maybe Methodist or Presbytarian??

As far as I know Swanbourne is still very much the nudey beach.

Hels I love the kitty -...don't know how I missed reading the thread when everyone was choosing a name for you?
I had a lovely ginger and white kitten when I lived in India, unfortunately when I was working in Bombay a teenager on drugs decided to drown it in the waterbutt!
I'm sure your cutey will survive Bendigo :)
I look forward to meeting her.
