If you're Protestant, other or non-religious, I'd have thought public school should be the default choice.
If you do choose to send your children to a Catholic school, you should be comfortable about how they will fit into the religious ethos - which does vary from school to school.

Hello
Our girls go to a Catholic primary in WA. I don't know how it compares to state schools here but don't presume it will be better just because you pay fees and its Catholic.
We chose ours as it had a lovely feel to it when we looked around. Also, our girls were used to going to a Catholic school in the UK so we thought that it would help them settle in easier.
However after being there for 4 months the standard of education isn't what we'd hoped for. I would happily send them to any school now as long as they were actually going to learn something.
