Is that place really that bad?:-)

Can I ask for salary advise? We were offered 1200, supervisor position, we are not being screwed over? I know you didnt work yourself in mining but sure would know approximate salary level in Karratha?

We are not really aware of what salaries are like in WA and apparently we made a big mistake with the first job in here.

Apart from what has already been mentioned above, here is Karratha on google maps.

Its a very small place, population 12,000 I think. Nearest big city is Denpasar, capital of Bali. Then Perth.

Re: Karratha

. look sorry, I just wanted to ask a Karratha mining salary level advice from those who know more about it. We came back from overseas couple of years ago and apparently people on the same position working for the same company get 60% more than we do now. We just had lower expectations. So dont wanna make the same mistake money wise if we do move to Karratha

If you want advice as to whether you are being screwed over salary wise you'll need to clarify exactly what you mean by that salary figure, just saying "1200"isn't clear enough for people to work out what you mean!
What currency are you talking = $A or something else, and per week/month/year?

Is that a forum rule? If so I do apologize

As for my questions people working in mining in WA normally get paid per certain amount of time, no need to clarify

Of course it isn't! Its just me saying that people are obviously confused by your figure (see the posts above) and can't advise you if they don't understand you :)

Re: Karratha

If you can go into more detail about the role..."supervisor" is too broad... and also what is the annual salary (and detail whether or not super is included, also accommodation) then there are definitely people on this forum who can answer your questions.

Hi Laven, its a difficult one to answer dependent on your skills, who you are working for but $100,000 pa would be average according to my husband.

He is an Electrician/Sig Tech so of course it differs. The total package of course differs again on FIFO or resident in Karratha, bonus/ long service leave/ accomodation & air con deals, Super, Medibank Private etc etc Susie.
Drop me a pm if I can help further
