Default Just wondering what you thought of these areas in Brisbane...

Hi
Have been on real estate.com and have been finding some lovely houses.
Just wondered what you all thought of:
* Eatons Hill
* Albany Creek
* Cashmere
* Warner
* Bray Park
* Mount Cotton
* Redland Bay

Thanks
xx

Cashmere, Warner and Eatons Hill I would find way out beyond generally speaking.
Mount Cotton is very nice as is Redland Bay. In Mount Cotton and Redland bay lots of development happening there. Mt Cotton is more centrally placed with Redland Bay below Victoria point in the bayside.

These are all nice places mind but all very different and you may be better served simply by having a drive around lots of places as we did in the earlier days of moving here.

I agree with a previous poster ..

I spent hours and hours looking at propertys, the whereis site and transinfo site trying to pick an area we would live in before we arrived ...

But we just couldnt

So we sorted out a short term let, bought a car and covered over 2000k's in three weeks just looking at different suburbs and houses that we found on realestate.com.au ... we really only covered the southside as i always seem to hit traffic when going north so ruled it out

This traffic thing on the northside definately seems to be an issue, maybe bayside will become the favourite for us.

a poster who was a regular on here lived in eatons hill....said it was fab - have now moved to albany creek and they thinks it fab! they are both inland, so from what i can gather it can get blinkin hot without the coastal sea breezes.

im going for the sea side!!

I too have always found the northside busy with traffic. That is how we decided southside then just drove around. This is the best way as you will come across a superb you feel comfortable with. This is what we did and once we arrive bayside (Wellington Point), we just knew it was for us.

Looks like you are getting closer to that decision

It's not an easy choice from afar.

I think all of these are nice enough areas. We live in Bridgeman Downs at the moment which is very near Albany Creek/Eatons Hill, I work in Windsor just outside the City Centre, it takes me 20-25 mins to drive here in rush hour I dont seem to have a big problem with the traffic at all, and if like me you really really really love Brisbane (radio jingle ) and listen to Nova Radio then that 25mins is a doddle and a laugh. I looked at Warner/Cashmere at the weekend and reckon it would put just another 10mins on my journey, To me Cashmere and Warner are areas that are not very established yet but will be really nice in about 5yrs time at which time you will make money on property bought there now.
But like others have said you can look and look at realestate.com.au but you dont really know until you get here, I still think its good to get an idea of prices and house types etc but you cant know an area until you have seen it with your own eyes.

I totally agree with you on this one. We too spent hours trawling through real estate web sites, it gave us a fair idea of what we were looking for... until we got here that is,
We started off in Aspley, Brisbane (Northside) but have ended up in Bundy as it just wasn't what we were looking for.
Bray Park, Warner, Bracken Ridge, Albany Creek are all lovely suburbs.
Good luck with your search.

Try Ashgrove, Windsor, Wilston, Grange, The Gap, all northside but lovely areas.

Traffic is not that bad, if like me it took you 1 hour to travel 10 miles in the UK to work you will laugh when they moan about the traffic, its the perspective you have already on things.

I'm a northside girl, feel a bit faint when going southside!!!
