I'm frequently bemused by the number of new topics which are posted here each day and completely confabulated by the number of daily posts. There are a lot of people doing HUGE amounts of communicating here, at whatever level, yet the only thing that we have in common is that we (well, most of us) were born in a small group of islands between the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
So - does anyone know if other nationalities carry on like this? Do the Greeks, Italians, Chinese, Vietnamese at all have similarly well-patronised ex-pat sites, or is it (another) peculiarly British habit?

Not too sure but you could check the other forums?

Hmmmmm interesting point......
Kris, you're right, there are lots of other nationalities posting on here, but I've not heard of "French Expats" or other forums along those lines, although can't say I've looked for them either...

Cheers,
Ron.
P.S. Ive seen at least one other Filipino here and other posters from other countries so I guess BE is not strictly/purely Brit-expat populated... there are others who found the site very informative and the people here quite helpful

I'm one of the non-British.
I came on here looking for visa info. Then got stuck..!!
There were some Dutch message boards, but not with as much info as this forum.
Now, since a year, there's also a Dutch expats forum. It's growing very quickly, and people are holding meets just like people from this forum do.
There's a few Belgiums on their too, but no other nationalities I think, but that's just cos nearly noone else can speak Dutch
