edit: forgot to mention, I have a job to go to in Perth and saw the BBC documentorary about moving to Perth and it made it look a bit boring. I have a young family and live in quite a big city Birmingham, althought its turning into a shit tip

The little village I lived in in the UK had 9 bars on the main street which was around 150 yards long.Try and do the circuit twice on a weekend with a half and a short in each bar,and of course start at the local working mens club at 6 pm for a game of snooker and dominoes.Different opening times then.

Buy fish and chips and eat them on the walk home, solving the problems of the world between mouthfuls.

There was more nightlife in that 150 yards than any city in OZ.

Perth is no more boring than any other city in OZ,life in any of them is much of a muchness,completely different lifestyle to the UK.

Perth or any city in OZ will be what you make of it.The country is pretty much an early to bed early to rise type of place for most blue collar tradesmen,don't know what you do.

When I first came here I just wanted to go back to living in Amsterdam,after around 6 months that feeling left,knuckled down and got on with it,everything turned out great.

Be aware of that strange thing that seems to afflict people when they come to OZ,the city/suburb/state that I/we live in is the best in OZ,how could anybody live anywhere else,take it all with a pinch of salt,the whole country is much of a muchness.

Pay no attention to the supposed isolation,Australia is isolated.There is no jumping on the plane at Newcastle airport and 80 mins later being in the centre of A/dam planning a weekend in Brussels or the coast at Nordwijk and Katwijk.

You'll be fine,she'll be apples as the locals say.
