Hi, My name is Carrie and I arrived in Brissy (Albany Creek) last wednesday with my two children (boy 4 1/2 and girl 1 ). I'm the Australian and have been living in the UK for 6 years with my British husband. Unfortunately due to work commitments my husband couldn't come over with us at the moment and will be going between both countries for a while.
I don't have any friends here with children the same age as my own and would love to meet up with other people who have children.

Hi Sarah, I am originally from Dublin however I lived in Essex for over 10 years, that where my children were born. Yes it would be great to meet up for a coffee, What day is best for you? how are you finding brisbane?

We're just a block or two off Redland Bay Rd and Ney Road. My kids are a younger than yours though. My oldest is almost 4 and the youngest is 15 months. I'm from Canada though, so that puts me in the minority on this site.

Hi to you all,
We have just got our visa last week, seemed to take for ever!! and we are heading for Brisbane hopefully May 08 (quicker if we can!!). We have some family in Middle Park, which we haven't even meet yet ( my OH fathers cousin). We have been on internet looking at property around Albany Creek, Redcliffe etc and we were just wondering what these areas are like??? We have 3 daughters, one of which isn't coming (19 and with boyfriend, big shame and will miss her so much). The other 2 are nearly 14 (doesn't want to come!!) and 4. What are the schools like, playgroups, nursery's etc and what age can they start school there (i've heard its 7??) Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
