Default Junior Soccer Leagues In Perth

Does anyone know the contact details or website addresses for junior soccer teams south of Perth - not sure exactly where we will be settling yet but will probably be between Rockingham & Mandurah. I have twin boys who play in the UK and want to join a team when we arrive.

I know that this may seem like a ridiculous question but - what do they wear on their feet over there? Here in the UK they have 3 sets of boots each - studs, moulded & astro. We were going to go to Sports soccer & get them the next size up (they are so cheap - Nike total90's) but don't want to waste money if they won't use them.

Sorry this sounds like a weird one but the shippers come in 10 days & I wanted to send it with them.

Also - hubbie works in suit here in UK - is it worth buying a couple before we go or are things alot more casual over there for work. Anything else that we should buy next week to send in the container?

Apart from bras (for me) from George at Asda.

My suggestion would be to have a look at local council sites for sports clubs. Or to try the WAIS (WA Institute of Sport) who are based at Curtain Uni (I think). I am sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction for sports clubs and the footwear question.

My hubby went over to Perth the other week to discuss his new job with bosses. He works in the IT industry and they said neat casual basically. Jeans and T-shirt too casual but suit far too formal. They suggested shirts and smart trouser type of wear. He wore chinos and short sleeved shirts. I guess it depends on the type of work he's planning to do.

Thanks Ushas

It is largely as I thought - so we will just get one more suit for interviews etc & then just chino type trousers - we stocked up on short sleeved shirts over the summer so should have enough of those.

I will look one the Institute of Sport and see where that leads.

Thanks for the info

Have found some websites & there seems to be a healthy soccer scene over there - looks like the boys may find it easy to join a team when we get there.

thanks

Yes well, Perth Glory is in the NAtional Soccer League and are champions back to back so I suspect this has helped build it up somewhat. Unfortunately there seems to be a shake up of this so it's not continuing again till 2005 season. Still it's cheaper to attend the NSL games than it is for us to go and see our local Conference South team.

My Boy plays for Port Kennedy under 6's, the club is now Port Kennedy Soccer club as a seniors team has just merged with us.

Warnbro Strikers, Rockingham City, Bay City Saints are other clubs who play in the JSAWA (Junior Soccer Association of Western Australia), there web site is;

www.jsawa.org.au

There are contact details on there for every club who are affiliated to the organisation.

Moulded studs are definitely the ones to go for.

Andy.

There are some schools that have specialist soccer programmes and take cross boundary enrollments for soccer students.
