Hi everyone i'm looking for some help on who to choose..
Both companies are quoting £2550 for 585 cubic feet, going to newcastle neither of them will budge on the price so we don't know who to use.
Has anyone had any bad experiences with either of them????
Or were your experiences good??
I need to get them booked by Tuesday cos we leave on the 4th July.
Look forward to your replies

Hi Claire
We used John Mason to ship our household items out to Perth in 2003. Two guys packed up our things and they were quite methodical and efficient. However, one idiot filled in the inventory, whilst leaning on our pine dining room table and hence we had intents of the inventory on our table. The same person also prized the cast iron pan stand into our plastic kitchen bin and sprained it. They admitted to the damage before we left and it was detailed on our inventory, but we never saw any compensation for the damage, despite chasing them. The moral of the story is, who ever you use, once you are 10,000 miles away they just don't care. We stated that we did not want to use John Mason on our way back and didn't, but we still had some issues with the shippers we used at both ends.

Hi Claire,
We used PSS and we had about the same amount of freight as you. We had a shared container and was about the same price as what you've been quoted. They were excellent from start to finish, no complaints whatsoever. They used OSS this end for the delivery who were also excellent.

John Mason. They were brilliant, as were Wridgways this side. No damage, nothing missing.

PSS lost one of our boxes and a muppet wrapped a gortex ski jacket around a mirror, guess what happened when the mirror broke
Container was also one that Noah had previously used

We used PSS and don't ask me why, as it's a long story, we didn't get our stuff delivered here in Sydney, until 6 months later.
Yet, all the stuff smelt as if it were only yesterday packed! And nothing broken!
They were ok...But as you can't separate the two, just make it clear that if they would include the AQIS fee in their pricing, that would clinch it!
Good luck

AQIS stands for Australia Quarantine And Inspection Service. Once your shipments arrives, they are the people who (may) inspect your shipment. I have found that in most cases they do inspect. The fee is anything from $299 and above.
Hope this helps
PS: We all had to learn so no you're not being too dumb asking about it.

Then to put the nail in the coffin we had to pay to have the outside of the container cleaned before they would open it.
Pss don't get my vote i'm afraid.

At this moment, we are waiting for Wridgeways to arrive. So far only 10 minutes late but will give benefit of the doubt on that because of the traffic in Brisbane. So, will let you know.
We haven't seen our stuff for 4 years.

If you say that when everything arrives, fair enough, but you are about 20% of the way through the process... don;t count your chickens yet....
