License wise, I got mine in Adelaide(2 weeks & $A2000 later). I live in Queensland. But you have to jump through hoops to get it here. Message me if you want more info or search on here. I did and a local guy helped me. A number of people told me I would have to start further down the ladder and it does happen. It took me 6 months to find work!. I started applying for just about anything. And I had a lucky break. Effectively took a step up from my job in the UK. Being a domestic spark here is no worse than the UK. Infact with the construction of the houses its probably easier. I`d rather face the odd Redback than a wasp nest. I was an electrical/instrumentation tech at a paper mill in the UK. But got licensed to do any electrical work over here. I hear of many people who come here and get into a completely different line of buisness. Good luck.
