Default job prospects

Hello
Could any one give me any information on job prospects on the Sunshine Coast?
We passed our TRA appeal yesterday and have now started the visa process. So in about 6 months plus we hope to move to the Sunshine Coast.
The only worry i now have is somebody said to my Husband that he will have a hard time finding a job on the Sunshine Coast and the best place to move to would be the Gold Coast.
He is a trained Vehicle painter / Sprayer and has had his own Bodyshop in UK for the last 7 years.
Could anyone advise me on this please?

All the rest, money, food, bananas, chocolate, underwear problems that i read about dont worry me at all, i have a very open mind about coming to OZ and will give it the very best shot, especially for the children.

Thanks in advance as any help would really be appreciated.

Sorry can't help, but we've been told the same thing as you. Have you been to the Sunshine Coast?

No not yet, in the next couple of months hopefully.
Have you?
it just sounds right for us, weather, schools and not as busy as the Gold Coast.

We went for a reccie in August, visiting Adelaide and the Gold Coast. While we were in Gold Coast we went to Australia Zoo and Mooloolaba and Caloundra, loved the feel of it up there. but if there arn't the jobs that would be a major worry.

Hi there, Im a Mechanic so similar line of work to your OH, get yourselfs set up on www.seek.com.au and you can put in the details of what job you are looking for and the area you want to work, they send you an email every day with the job vaccancies avalible. Its really good, ive been on it for ages now and when you find a job that appears to be what you are looking for just send them an email and state that you will soon have a visa and intended date of arrival and most of them will email you straight back. I have now 5 job offers through seek and going to see them all when I arrive and they are all very keen as I have been in touch with them all for around 6 months now and have given me loads of help and info about the areas and the job that I would have when I get there. Im looking in Brisbane but you can put in the Gold coast on seek as an area in Queensland, you should find something this way, you could visit the places you contact on your reccie trip if you are having one. Hope this helps, Pete

Me and my partner and the 2 children arrived on sunshine coast in the middle of april from the uk. My partner is a motor mechanic and we searched for jobs in the local paper. The first job he went for he got no problem at all, and was emplyed within days of arriving here. There appears to be enough work in the body repair businesss as well. We actually live in Little Mountain. We was going to move to the Gold Coast, but on arrival found it to be too commercialised. Hope this has been of some help to you, and put your mind at rest.
