Default Jimboomba area Qld......any opinions?

Hi All

Am doing some research regarding areas and have found a few lovely properties in the Jimboomba area of Qld - just south of Brisvegas. Does anyone know what this area is like? I'd be grateful for your thoughts!

Jo

When we were doing our research we looked at Jimboomba. We found it a little bit far out for us but it was offering some great homes on very good sized plots. With the way the south east part of Queensland is it will soon be quite a attractive area to think about. Good luck. Quill.

It's a bit far for me (and the wife) if you want to commute to the CBD.

We decided Logan Village (ish) was about as far out as we wanted to go (Northern tip of Beaudesert Shire) ... so that is where we bought ... love the place. The Mother-In-Law is 15 minutes away in Logan so it suits us logistically.

It's an hour's commute on a good day, 30 minutes more on average.

Cheers,
Matt

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies - it's so helpful to get your opinions! we don't really mind so much being far out as ideally in the end would like a couple of horses, but don't want to be really carting own water!! did notice a lot of properties saying "town water" - i'm guessing (please correct be if i'm wrong!!!), that that means water supplied rather than carting?!!!

Thanks again!

Town water (piped) properties are the pick, especially in the current drought.

I wonder about this drought, the water restrictions are going up to lvl 4, but the reservoirs are 80% full, and this week they were talking about if we had much more rain on the gold coast they would need to lower the water levels.
Seems Brisbane has the problem and the gold coast are having restrictions imposed to conserve water for Brisbane.
Locals are pissed off because a few years back the roles were reversed and Brisbane council said tuff titty.

WEll only earlier this year we were on retsrictions in brisbane, even though we had loads of water, because it was all being pumped down the coast. Totally inefficient system that noone seems interested in fixing. Electricity is similar - come the summer, its not unknown for there to be "brownout" (reduced supply) in Brisbane, or even total blackouts, because Qld is selling its power to NSW and they get more cash selling it down there than by letting Qlders use it.

Crazy systems but the Bloke tells me its been that way for years.

I don't think they did. They built a pipeline down to the Gold Coast from Brisbane and, because of contractual obligations, are still supplying water to the Gold Coast even though its not needed. And, with the usual foresight, they built a one-way pipe! So now the Gold Coast can't provide Brisbane with much needed water from their surplus supply.

But thats what make QLD just so unique.

And why we all want to live here.

Why be boringly conventional in another state, when you can be in QLD?

Fixes hard strap and heads down into the slit trench
