Good on yer Mandy, now all youve got to do is wait for the build up! when i lived there the first time the build up finished i was dancing in the street in my undies surrounded by empty darwin stubbies! After i moved south i had to wear a jumper for six months through a chilly Sydney summer. Madness!

Have fun!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I feel as though im home already, im sure once the OH starts work the 'holiday' feeling will soon go.
With in a short distance to the house we have a great beach and are surrounded by bush land once out of the estate. A short drive away we have a free water park, which the kids loved on Saturday. so im sure over the hols we will be making lots of use of it.
Till we get 2 cars im going to be doing lots of walking and exploring with the dog and the boys.

Thanks for the warning about the build up(what exactly is that) i hear loads of people talking about it, but no one has explained what that is.
I just thought it was dry season then wet season. I guess i will learn soon enough lol
The kids love the outdoors and think the parks are brill, espcially the one near our new house.
Off to get the youngest off to bed then i can have some much deserved peace and quiet.

90%+ humidity from Oct, rain and thunderstorms most afternoons or nights. Then the wet season starts properly until April. It can be hard going but you will either adapt quickly or not at all. A lot of people leave town for 6 months a year, makes it good time to find a rental property. I thought it was great, love Darwin.
Don't let the boys, dogs or yourself go in the sea, might look great, but not a good idea, ever. Darwin sea is best enjoyed from a boat with a beer in one hand and a fishing rod in the other.
