It's absolutely chucking it down with rain today (all night actually). This is the first "proper" rain we've had since we left Scotland and Melbourne SOOOOO needs it.
Isn't it funny how your attitude to rain changes here. In the UK we used to complain about it (then again, it did rain a lot there). Over here, if it rains, you are thankful that the water levels get to rise, the gardens get watered, the car gets rinsed and the dust is settled
Having said all that, we are supposed to be going to the Family Day at Fed Sq today

It is soooooo weird - we have been praying for rain in Canberra - as we are in stage 3 and have been for ever!
It began raining last night and rained through the night - nice and sunny now - but so needed. Never thought I would pray for rain

It is funny to think we are pleased with the rain.
Here in Adelaide we have had plenty over the last few days.
Just hope it has fallen in the farming areas where it's needed most.

waking up this morning after absolutely hammering down all night here, and the first thing I thought was " I bet the level in the reservoirs has risen tonight. "

30mm plus inthe eastern burbs and even the dryer west has copped it. Geelong got over 25mm too. They will be happy.

The signature giveaway from people who have been here ages is the fact they're not just pleased, they always say "Could do with some more though".
After rising from 30 - 40pc over end winter, the levels dropped last week below 40pc.
