I don't think it's quite as bad as that although 2 years ago at Surfers Paradise we witnessed a sickening violent incident from our hotel balcony where 3 blokes, obviously out of their heads stopped the traffic and pulled anyone they could get hold of out of their vehicles, including a bus driver and beat the shit out of them for no apparent reason.

We were at Surfers on our hols last year and witnessed a chap being thrown through a shop window!!!!!!!!!!!Scary

It is sad for Burleigh, it is my local beach and is usually filled with families. I go there a lot and I have never seen any problems, however, I avoid the beach on Australia day

Yup I'm a big fan of Burleigh Beach too.....but I'll definitely not go there on 26th Jan!
