.........or early August??
I am sick of this weather and have been googling a weeks holiday for me and 2 kids for one week during summer holidays. The prices are astronomical :curse: I got to thinking ......................................... if i have to pay that amount of money for ONE week hol maybe i should just head off to Oz and finish off my reccie that was ruined at easter??? I have somewhere to stay so wouldonly have to pay for flights and spending money. what you think? irresponsible (should be saving dosh for visa) ??? or sensible - good opportunity to make some plans.
What are the logistics etc regarding my visa grant?? i am 136 MODL and believe i have to be out of the country when it is granted? :confused:

I so know what you mean about the cost of holidays. We were going to go to Majorca, but when we decided we wanted to go to Oz, found it was cheaper to fly to Sydney for two weeks. OK we haven't got to pay for accommodation, but Sydney or Majorca???? Think we made the right decision! :thumbup:

Irresponsible is my middle name, go on line and book it, just remember what most of us are already doing, leaving good payed jobs and arriving in a new country with no income, selling our houses and having no where to live, leaving the people who love and care for us. You have already taken the step that many people would only dream of. Go the whole hog, book it, pack it and F**K off and worry about it later. :eek:

i went out at easter fora reccie which was totally ruined (long story buried on another thread somewhere) so realistically this could be a good move with regard to checking out Bunbury where i am drawn to but never been and check out uni and housing etc etc :confused: have i justified the expense yet LOL
cheapest flights i can find are £940!!!!!!!!! :eek: that sounds pretty steep to me what you think??????????

its for me and my 2 kids (who have to go as adults :curse:) ages 14 & 12. i thought it expensive too considerin it was only £657 to go at easter which was at least australia autumn as oppose to winter :confused:

We justified our trip to ourselves as a "legitimate moving expense"... same as visa fees, removals etc etc....

Would be better to have at least an idea of the area you're going to. Depends a lot on your personal finances whether that £1000 will make that much of a difference in the whole scheme of things.

Sounds like you have already decided anyway :rofl:

Just seen that that £1000 was for one ticket..... Lot of money if you have to buy 3!

Try asda daunted they seem to be the cheapest around for flights!
You seem to be itching just like us i want to be out there by november. Ive sold the house and got the dog booked out. If it aint here by november we are gonna get a 3 month visitors visa and if it aint here by then we will go to thailand and live in a tent on noodles till it does arrive :rofl:
Im even thinking past that and getting a work visa for NZ in case we dont get the visa, i cant get one for oz has ive used that one up, ive even started looking at canada to live if we dont get the visa its just like a rollercoaster ride:)

When we thought my husbands security checks wouldnt come through we thought 'sod it' and booked our dream holiday to Africa.

No way could we afford it and had 'sensible' been my middle name then we wouldn't have booked it at all.

But Namibia has been my dream country for as long as I can remember and Mr PP has wanted to go for nearly as long.

It felt damn good booking it, very scary paying for it and emotional confirming those flights to Windhoek.

After the visions of lion, cheetah, leopard and elephants had subsided, we thought 'shit what have we done?' kind of thing.

And a short while later, the security checks and med requests came through would you believe?

Yes its costing a fortune but once we are in Australia, holidays will be few and far between and we are at least getting to visit our dream destination - which is something I never thought would happen and I would be limited to my well-thumbed Namibia guide book.

If you need a holiday Daunted, then go for it as you only have one life and one chance to live it.

Book it, look forward to it and enjoy it.:thumbsup:

Thanks for all the replies everyone! got dragged away from pc by daughter but back on tomorrow to see if i can find those flights. Cheapest i can find is £2500 for the 3 of us. :( If i can get it down to £2k or preferably just under then i will be VERY tempted - as so many have said - it wouldnt be a holiday to speak, more a preparation trip :D

YAY they quote £842 which whilst it is cheapest so far is still more than i can realistically afford to pay out right now :( Looks like i will have to be patient and get wet in UK this 'summer' :(:(

Hi mate ,go for it.Weve had problems with our house and weve got our visa.We went a month ago with the kids to Mallorca.Then a fortnight later me and hubby went to Mallorca.Thats bloody irresponsible mate.But hey we only live once.ENJOYxx:thumbsup:

:thumbsup: Ok - its NOT Australia BUT it is going to be hot and sunny and my kids get to see a bit more of europe before we head down under.
We are off to Greece on 22 July for 7 nights! Excitement has been short lived as noone else seems to be happy about it! :curse:
