Default Is investing in Treasury Bonds a viable option for migration

Hi
Can anyone tell me please if investing in treasury bonds is a viable option for immigrating to Australia - my husband is a bricklayer but not got 3 consecutive years together so we will have to wait another 12 months before we can apply.
Does anyone know how much you need to invest and for how long and also is it different in different states - we would love to go to Queensland.
Thanks for any help and advice.

Default Re: Is investing in Treasury Bonds a viable option for migration

Sam,

In short, no it isn't ... investing in a State Treasury Bond is:

1. A means by which you can obtain an additional 5 points towards the skilled visa points pass mark (A$100,000 to be deposited), or

2. Required if you are applying for an Investor visa (A$750,000 required if you can secure also State Sponsorship).

How many years has your husband been bricklaying, and does he have a recognised qualification/apprenticeship?

Best regards.
