We've had an insurance quote from our shipping company.

Total Loss - 2% of total value of property
All risk - 3% of total value

Is this pretty standard rates? Is there much point in shopping around?

Definetly worth shopping around. Look at lettonpercival.co.uk or insure your move. Both of these companies offer competitive rate around a 1.6% compared to 3% offered by removal companies. We are using letton Percival for our move to Brisbane in July.

Shop around you should be able to get insurance for 1.5 to 2 %. In case anybody thinks they can do without it.........
