Default Internal move - Perth to Melbourne (A few questions)

Hi all,

I have been in Perth over a year now working FIFO and had enough. I have just been offered a job in Melbourne so assuming all goes well (Contract signed and 457 transferred) I have a few questions.

What is the best way to move belongings? Excess baggage or sending stuff in another way? (I've not got any furniture etc just my belongings).

Does anyone have any recommendations for affordable short term accommodation whilst I try and rent something for the long term?

Thanks.

What area of Melbourne is your job in? And is it just you to move? How much volume is your stuff a couple of tea chests? Or a suitcase or two?

You need to give a bit more information

The job would be in Bentleigh, I would be moving on my own and the stuff that I would need to move would probably fit in one big suitcase (around 35-40kg).
