Same old subject, but it would be interesting to hear people's views on shipping insurance, as we're in the process of working out what we should be asking a shipping company in terms of their insurance, and what we should look out fo.

Who read all the small print, realised it wasn't worth it, and took a risk and didn't take it?

Who has had good/bad experiences when it came to claiming?

Who has any good advice in terms of what they offer, and more importantly what they exclude?

Did anyone just list items they really want to insure, and then was this a problem? We've got stuff we think well "c'est la vie" if we lost them, an opportunity to buy new, but other stuff we'd definitely want to replace.

Froim previous posts and from Mr Mover it would appear that insurance is a bit of a con.

I had several shipping firms come to quote and they all left me their bumph. Some of them iuse the same insurande company (BUT their % costs are different) for the same rules

Does that mean we can use No 1 shipping company and No 4's insurande????????

Alternativfely should we use a completely outside insurance company ????????? Or not at all
