Even if you did get insurance and god forbid something did happen to your possesions there's always some clause the insurance company finds to enable them to screw you over.
You know we should have a poll on how many people have been screwed over by an insurance company in the past. I bet it would be at least 80%.
God luck hope everything goes well with the move.

U've made me feel much better about the decision!
Crown have been brill so far with the packing...it's much less stressful than moving down the road and doing it all yourselves. I've left them to it and I'm playing on the laptop!

How do some of you guys record 1000's of posts. I've sent 28 opps 29 now but it feels like I've been registered and posting forever. I think we'll have to have a party when I reach 100 posts, cause I'll be 100 myself before I reach 1000 and I'm only 24 now.

Well, I registerd in April 03!!
In the first few months I only posted a handful of posts, from about oktober/january I started getting addicted.....
The thing is, you start getting to everyone sort of 'personally', so you start chatting!
And I like helping people with their questions. And I like posting pics of my years in Oz!
And I'm only 22, imagine my number of posts when I'm 24

:scared:Oh, and to stay on topic
We haven't got insurance either. Not possible when you're packing and loading yourself!Thinking about a total loss insurance though. Would be 1% for us.....

depending on the value of your belongings, in general it is advisable to take out at least a total loss insurance.
if you have 30,000.00 GBP worth of items, with a 1.5% premium you pay 450.00 GBP.
Is it not worth paying 450.00 to avoid loosing 30,000.00 when the ship sinks, never mind the sentimental value that some items may have?
what you should consider is taking out insurance not with the relocators, try a saearch on insurance in here, and you'll see a thread intitled
for those who decided to take insurance
another one with
things to do - part 1 , 2 and 3.
they recommended a company in liverpool ....

for that much stuff, you could probably take it on the plane with you, and even if you had to pay excess luggage, would still be cheaper than paying a relocator....
but then again you said you had the relocators in already,
so I am not sure as to how much you are taking with you...

can do much better if you take it with someone other than the relocators themselves.

We are shipping everything 20ft container, you get competative rates with most of the shipping firms, however the insurance adds up to a lot of money if you are ping 4% of 20-30k, would be nice to know a few other insurance firms to use for shipping everything.
