innisfail??
Has anyone ever checked innisfail?
I know that they had cyclone larry last year but it seems to be picking up quite a bit now.
After having a look at realestate.com.au the prices seem very reasonable and you get good value for your money! but only from 275k and up.
Is there anything do do in this wet town??

There isn't alot there to be honest, very rural. I can imagine you will get more for your money but you will be out in the sticks.

Very remote, fairly low generally on the socio-economic scale, with many people still recovering from Larry. Snappy lives up that way, she might know more.

As has been said before, Deliverance, Bogans, Wolf Creek, Banjos and incest spring to mind.

Re: innisfail??
depends on what you want from life. i personally wouldnt live there but have done plenty work there and its not that bad. i wouldnt say its remote as your only an hours drive from cairns international airport. the people down there would give you the shirt off there back if you needed help. its a large country town with bananas and cane farming industries . your also only an hour from the wettest place in oz so water aint a problem. property prices are reasonable and crime is virtually non existent.

Re: innisfail??
I'm looking to set up a cafe/lunchroom.
So just having a look at places close to coast which is growing, or already busy.
I think that I'll have to stick to my original plan, Mission Beach or Cairns.
Any other places are welcome
