January is the hottest time of year so in Brisbane, you will bake. March would be better... then it's just 'British' hot, and you may cope with that, just about.
I hope that whilst you're up there, you could pop into Surfers Paradise and check out the damage that people have done to their skin by 'getting their tan.' Skin like leather, numerous surgeries taking out cancerous moles, skin with no elastin left in it so knee skin and ankle skin is saggy!
Be careful out there!

Hi hayleyhails,
We went this year Jan 16th - Feb 13th to the Gold Coast, it's only a hours drive from Brisbane (cos we went there via Tambourine Mountain) and the weather was beautiful, came back with a lovely tan.
Steve.
