Originally posted by sj oldfield Bloodthell I really feel for you, especially as you are carrying all the way through the summer. I cant help with any ideas as to bringing the bugger along. I tried it all, my first was due 01/08/87 (remember it like it was yesterday!). I tried the lot to `start`, long walks, castor oil, (yuk), driving down very bumpy roads, even bloody sex!! I was finally induced on 26/08/87, and still the bugger refused to budge. Induced again at 7am on 27/08/87, he finally emerged, (dragged by forceps) at 10pm that night. Sorry, cant help :D Christ Sandra..........HOW many days over?????? He was literally dragged kicking and screaming wasn't he???? Awkward bugger!! ;) |

I think I might just reconsider "I want children" comments to Mr W All the best Lynn |
Lynne, just remember there are only 3 words that you need to be able to yell in the delivery room ......
GIVE ME DRUGS!!!! ;) Cant help with the pubic thing, but I can empathise with carrying through summer (boys were born 2/2) & being as big as a house (induced with twins at 38 weeks, I have a pic of myself somewhere just before I was induced, I was enormous!! :scared: :scared: ). Have heard that Raspberry leaf tea works, also having sex can do it as well. Its to do with the proglastins(sp?) in semen softening the cervix. Good luck with it :) |
induction
There are reports of fresh pineapple and bananas helping to start labour off so you could try that.Another method, although probably less pleasant for you depending on your inclinations, is oral sex. Yes you have to swallow.Apparently the prostaglandins are 10x more efficiently absorbed than through the cervix. This is a genuine post and not written by a bloke who's got a thing for oral sex. Also lots of oral sex reduces your chances of getting pre-eclampsia.:scared:

we were advised by our midwife to have a good curry a bottle of wine and a good hard shag, done the trick for us, our little one's was born the same night on both occasions.
:D |

Our midwife suggested pineapple as away of setting off labour or as others have said a curry and then sex. Luckily didn't need any of these as both of mine were born at 35 weeks.
Good luck and remember pain is just a state of mind (yeh right and it will have been a woman who never had kids or a man who wrote that one:D ) Claire |
