Is there any indication that the Independent Overseas Students in Australia category is in trouble, now that DIMA is tougher on IT professionals? Will processing be slower for ICT graduates (used to be only a couple of months I think)? Also I've heard that the duration of studies might be lengthened from the present one academic year to two years.

If anyone here wants an official answer from DIMIA/ASPC (Adelaide Skills Processing Centre) about the timeframe for ICT applications now that ICT's off the fasttrack list, this is what I suggest:

If you have a query that you think ASPC can help you with, send them an email. You will get an automated response confirming that the APSC has indeed received your email. In that automated response, you will be able to see for yourself the estimated timeframes for all categories of skilled migration applications addressed to the APSC.

Cheers,
Peter
