Independent building inspection - Perth north

Independent building inspection - Perth north
Hi
Our house build is coming to an end and we are considering getting an independent report before handover. Was wondering if anyone can recommend an inspector, and give me an idea of what $ we will have to stump up.
We are building just north east of Perth.
Thanks!

They offer various inspections throughout the build process and we had a comprehensive written report emailed the day after after each inspection for about $350 each time. I would recommend them.

The building inspector we used throughout the construction of our new home has unfortunately retired. His inspections and reports used to cost $500. More recently we used Houspect (phone: 9383 1043) for a pre-purchase inspection, which is less detailed than a new construction. That BSP website looks promising. Just check the fine print, and make sure that the inspector reports any defects in terms of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) paragraph number or the relevant Australian Standard. Perhaps FiP can confirm that.
We wanted our building inspector to do the PCI (practical completion inspection) with us, but the builder refused to let it happen. It caused a few problems that we're still dealing with. pm me if you want further details.

We've used them twice so far: Once when the rooof trusses were on the top roof. The second time when the roof trusses were on the lower roof . And we'll be using them a 3rd time at the first hand-over meeting.
First inspection was $495, second was $450.
Girl-Friday in the office is a little ditzy. But the inspector knows his stuff.
