Importing Weapons into Oz?
I have a fully decommissioned AK47 rifle which is mounted on a timber display stand. Its been decommissioned by a reputable firm and have plugged the barrel and welded the inner mechanisms in the closed position so there is no way it can ever be fired. I also have the firms certificate stating this.
Whats the score with getting this into Oz or should I just sell it and be done with all the hassle.
Any advice would be greatly recieved.
Regards Adie............

I don't think you will have a problem, but they would be able to tell you for sure. Tell them about the certificate. Also, is the display board treated?
Best of luck.

I brought a small knife collection with me and also sent an email to customs. They were a great help.
