Importing a new sofa from the UK
#1
We've fiinally bought our own house here in Sydney and are poncing it up a bit with the lounge. We want to buy two Luara Ashley sofas priced here at $4500 each compared with $2300 in the uk.
Obviously as a result we are thinking of buying in the uk and importing to here. I'm assuming that we'll be looking at 10% GST on arrival. Any other costs that you guys are aware of?
Also is it cheapest to go with the usual removalists such as Dorree Bonner and the like or are there better shipping companies to go with when it's not an entire house move?
Cheers!

AQIS fees, security fees, access fees, unpacking fees, wharf fees, and on and on.
It turns a GBP 100 spare part in to something costing over $1,000 landed.
