I'm Sure OLD Subject - How Do You Apply For Entry into Australia
We are interested in moving to Australia. We have 2 children aged 2 and 5. I am a qualified accoutant, specialising in management and service. We are looking to better our lifestyle and our children upbringing. I have "qualified" on a number of web sites for gaining the number of points but what do I do next ????

Theres also www.australia.org.uk which is the website for the Australian High Commission in London. Most question can be answered on one site or the other, if you still have questions try the search facility on here, or just post your questions. Beware though, there are a few people on here with a very negative viewpoint,(and who will argue with themselves if there is no-one else around!) so before coming to any conclusions make sure you read a wide range of the posts!

The first thing to do is to obtain a skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority for your occupation, probably the Institute of CA's in Australia.
Once you have the skills assessment to hand you can lodge your visa application (form 47SK).
If you'll forgive the self promotion, there are some further details here:
http://www.gomatilda.com/visas/faqs.cfm
http://www.gomatilda.com/visas/skilled_migration.cfm
And on the DIMIA site:
http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/ski...re_general.htm
It is also worthwhile obtaining a copy of booklet number 6 (free if you download it from the DIMIA website):
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/books6.htm
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Thanks for the praise Paul & Ali, but I'm only a humble prospective marriage visa holder myself - Alan Collett could give you far more advice than I could ever dream of! It was he first sent me to this site in fact.
If you need a migration agent, once you've ploughed through all the info, I've heard nothing but good reports of his work, and the Gomatilda site is excellent.
Good luck!
