i'm going as a skilled _________?
there seems to be a lot of ITs applying for visa on this forum.(or is it the fact that ITs are more likley to use the web?)
out of interest could you guys say what you are going as?

My husband is going as a Wall and Floor Tiler. Which area are you all hoping to head for? I know some areas are not so good for some trades.

Husband a printer - application for PR on his skills, planning working on a 457 in the intermediate wait on my IT Skills! Bit of a mixed bag. Have information that Melbourne the best place for printing but will be based in Sydney because of my job - any hints and tips about printing and/or any job to keep him working in the meantime appreciated. His idea not mine, I would be happy knowing that after 21 years working he should take some time and enjoy Aus

We are heading to Perth , its our first choice because thats the only place we have been to. Work does seem a bit thin on the ground but sure something will turn , next choice probably Brisbane , will wait and see,

We are heading for Brisbane. We were originally considering Perth, but we were in contact with a Wall and Floor Tiler who
emigrated to Perth 2 years ago and had real trouble finding work in his trade, so he has gone over to Brisbane, where there is more building work apparently.
I have heard that there is work in Perth, but not much in construction, so my husband would have to consider doing something else, and he wants to stick to what he knows to start with, till we've settled. So off to Brisbane we go, but thats Ok, as we really like it over there as well.

i was thinking of going to melbourne,the coldest part of oz (if there are any),hoping people would rather have a plumber fix their water heater rather than have a cold shower/bath.

Anyone know best place for cabinet makers. At the moment we are looking at Melbourne.
Also thinking of using skills to fit out yachts. Seem to be plenty around but I don't know where the boat building center of Aus is.
Any advice appreciated.

Well, I'm a paramedic... but i own 50% of a tour company based out of Perth with my
father in law and mother in laws, who live in Perth. I'm going on a family visa my

I am a nurse and my hubby is a joiner.
We are planning to go to Perth .... I have been told by a nursing agency that there are community based nursing posts around the Perth area but I dont know about joiners.
If my hubby doesnt have his qualificatons assessed prior to going, does that mean that he cant work as a joiner?...although he tends to manage contracts now these days? .... I dont think that he would be bothered mind you...if he changed jobs..
We are thinking that maybe it would be easier to just have my qualification assessed as he has been self employed for 16yrs and I dont know what kind of process it would be to get references etc!!!
