Default if you had the choice.!!!!!!!!!!!!

we want a great live for our kids, we live in N.Ireland, and have looked t moving to OZ next year, but i now have mixed feelings ready alot of forums.

we have 2 kids 3 and 8 both girls, my wife is a specialist nurse, and i am a product coordinator. we want a place that has good school, nice place to go, maybe theme parks of activities to be able to do things with our kids, sunshine most of the time etc etc.

but with forum for OZ alot of ppl slate it for being: expensive, boring, way to far from everywere and so on.

IF you where in our shoes and from you own experiences where woul;d you recomend.

USA !
OZ !
Canada !
or other. idealy a english speaking country to make life easier for kids to settle.

thanks

chris

Why do you want to emigrate, what's wrong with where you live now?

Feels like a bit of a daft question. What if I randomly say "Canada"! What are you going to do then? Take all your family to Canada based on what I said? It's like asking someone else which house you should buy.

Feels like you need to do a lot more research and investigating yourself, then come to this forum once you have decided.

Yes, especially as they're unlikely to just 'have the choice' of any country which takes their fancy.

Also, don't assume English-speaking means adapting is a breeze.

I could probably live in some parts of the USA, the warmer ones.

Canada would be too cold for me.

Oz is where we're headed.

Exactly. For example, the OP said they were a "product coordinator". Is that a skill that will get you points for emmigrating to Australia? A lot more invesigating is needed.

And if you go to the Canada/ NZ/ USA forums people will 'slate' them for many things be it expensive, boring, crime, medical care problems, education, unemployment, yobs, drugs, homesickness, crappy employers, weather, politics, grocery choice, neighbours, dog poo ..........................

Go because you fancy a change, want something different, just dont expect it to be 'better' let alone problem free.

And by the way if you have the skills to get into USA Canada and OZ, you have a choice very few in the world have

I don't understand this. There are parts of the US that are much colder than parts of Canada. The west coast of Canada is very similar weatherwise to English weather. Where I'm from in Southern Ontario is much warmer during both summer and winter than parts of the US.

Quick comparison here.

Maybe "product coordinator" isn't on the list, but specialist nurses are on the lists for all 3 countries. The OP said his wife was a specialist nurse and he (& their children) would go on her visa.

Just what I was thinking - most of the themes in the Aus forum are mirrored in the Canadian and US forums, probably because tey are all the subjects that make up life's rich tapestry! Same with some of the other forums - Spain for example has most of the same issues.

I'm not slating Canada at all, it's a beautiful country, but it would need to be warm like Florida, California or other southern states of the US.

Even the UK is getting too cold for us now.

And Chicago is a defo no-no by looks of it from that link.

Gold Coast!

A few things to also consider are how you might feel living so far from family & friends, how adaptable are you & if you want coast or country.

Good luck with your research

The USA is nigh on impossible to migrate to, Canada is too cold for me - sorry Dorothy but under 20 degrees is cold for me Had to be Australia but only because husband had the birth certificate and we felt like it. No overpowering desire to leave the UK.

Australia or learn French. France is the only other country I'd consider but it has issues. Especially if your French is poor. Reevaluate life where you are. Think twice then think again.

I would consider Italy. I love Italian food, the wine, the language. I think I'm too old now to be moving to new countries though.
