I thought that too, but then thought it could be a dangerous game to play, if we got it right!! spooky!!:D

I wonder about this person though, it is obvious some people use more than one username when posting, which is mind boggling in itself, so it seems really hard to work out who would be so blatant, I mean in the end they haven't been very clever have they.
Yeah, agreed about not a good idea to try and guess the password of people in this forum but how about famous people. Imagine, for example, David Beckham entering his password:

Bucks - Incorrect Password, please try again;

Backs - Incorrect Password, please try again;

Bicks - Incorrect Password, please try again;

P*sh - Incorrect Password, please try again; (didn't show i there)

Push - Incorrect Password, please try again;

Brook ...... time up, please try again;

Gives up in disgust:D

No offence to Becks but you get the type of idea. Any other suggestions?

I did! Peter has been most helpful in resetting the posts counter and stars and asking what I want to do as far as username, password and default email address goes. He also asked whether I had any idea who the culprit(s) might be. That has been passed on to him(by PM), so look out GB (and anyone else thinking of being a GB), they're on your trail.

sean 2? wow, I can only think of 1. But to be fair ( :rolleyes: ) , its possible that someone else may have used the situation & made it look like a certain person when it wasnt.

Now wheres that pic of the flying pig? :D
Wow, I hadn't thought of the possibility 2 GB's and one purports to be the other who purports to be me to attack WBB and others :D Hollywood movie script?:D

thats great that Peter could help

re:the 2 GB's- that was probably from one of my posts -SORRY- just 2 names sprung to mind but yeah it prob just the one.

As regards the posts saying innocent till proven guilty -yes i agree but as luckily nobody has been named in a post nobody innocent has been wrongly accused-if we jump to a conclusion then it has been kept off the forum.

Lets hope we see apost soon saying - all has been sorted

my thoughts exactly. If you are going to accuse anyone at least give them the chance to defend themselves.. it is wrong to say that a certain person has done it in ( in childish whispers). and not to give that person you are accusing that chance to defend themselves.

oh well people are people.. some people they will believe anything that some people feed them.

I've been on this site for over a year and I have not got a clue either who is supposed to be doing it.

Cheers:)

P.S if you are scared of identity theft.. use a weird password.. a non English word and symbols .. Hubby is a b*gger for his passwords.. so simple.. he uses names, I use foreign words and symbols.. I keep telling him if I was a hacker I could easily hack into his.
i agree, and as far as i am aware nobody here has been accused of anything (except by pm) although i am sure i know who it was.

to be honest there is no defence for this kind of thing, how would you feel if you were on the receiving end of the attack or if your account was hacked???

btw i have sent a pm to peter (ptlabs) naming the suspect and i hope this will be sorted out today.

innocent until proven guilty?

but that's not the message I ever get in my morning papers....

innocent until proven guilty??

can't be.... surely not. what a ridiculous concept!!

that'd never work.... :D

Pollyana Nov 11th 2003 11:43 pm

I have to stick my 5 eggs in here and say I agree with Billy; theres no defence for this kind of thing at all.

I had my college username/password hacked into years ago by a computer studies student - he used my username to hack into someone else's account and delete that persons degree coursework.
I was threatened with expulsion from college, and I was only saved by the fact that I was so completely dumbfounded when interviewed, and so ignorant about the workings of computers! I can still hear the lecturer saying "She couldn't have done it, she hasn't a clue!"
Its a despicable thing to do, and theres no excuse. I have no theories at all about how did it, but I hope that whoever it was has now been "dealt with"

Pollyana

(who still hasn't a clue, just makes it up as she goes along!):)

Yeah, I think you are innocent until FOUND guilty which is a little different to proven.

Yeah, I think you are innocent until FOUND guilty which is a little different to proven.
That sounds better !! Guess getting words mixed up is also a crime. :D

*****

I just looked it up and the term is infact correct, a court needs to prove that someone is guilty therefore they can be innocent until proven guilty. When the facts are proven they can then be FOUND guilty.

You are innocent until found guilty but it has to be proven. !!
